Did you know that the Capital of Prince Edward is Charlottetown and it is located is the Appalachian Mountains. There flag has a lion on top and trees in the middle you can see the flag at the bottom. Also there is a glass house and it is made up of all glass it is so cool.Long before cars and bridges, the island was home to the Micmac (or Mi'kmaq) people. Primarily hunters and fishers, the Micmac moved seasonally in pursuit of their resources: In winter they hunted moose, caribou and other large game. The rest of the year, they fished and collected shellfish, berries, roots and nuts.

The Micmac lived on the island undisturbed until 1534, when French explorer Jacques Cartier arrived. The French didn't actually establish a colony until 1719, and that settlement didn't last long—the settlers were expelled by the British in 1758. A few families escaped expulsion, and their descendants make up most of the Acadian population that lives in the western part of the island. It gets -8 in winter as you can tell it gets very cold,Prince Edward Island's rich, red, soil is ideal for growing potatoes, which are the most important source of income for the province's farms. Most industrial activity has to do with food processing, although high-technology is becoming important, especially in the medical, electronics and agricultural fields.

Although lobster remains 'king' of the waters off Prince Edward Island, about 30 other fish and seafood species are caught, notably cultivated mussels, herring, bluefin tuna and the renowned Malpeque oysters.Jacques Cartier discovered the island in 1534 as you can tell the place is very old.
